nVidia Drivers in Fedora 10

I’ve always gone to nvidia.com to download the Linux drivers for my computers. However, I now rarely have the full amount of time to do all the necessary maintenance and prefer a more automated Linux experience (sorry to all you purists out there!).

If you go to the rpmfusion.org page which discusses the installation of the nVidia driver on Fedora 10, you’ll see exactly how to do this. With RPMfusion repositories installed and enabled, simply (as root or as “sudo”) type

yum install kmod-nvidia

and Yum goes to grab all the new packages which are required. In fact, Yum grabs the packages

So now, whenever I grab kernel updates, I don’t have to go reinstall the nVidia drver.
