I’ve used the LaTeX Beamer documentclass several times. As I’m teaching a MATLAB class at LC this fall, I decided to make my presentations tighter than Openoffice.org’s Impress does. So I went back to LaTeX for my presentation and wanted Beamer because it really is stunning.
I found the guide by the creator at http://ftp.math.purdue.edu/mirrors/ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/beamer/doc/beameruserguide.pdf. This really is a great site.
Interestingly enough, the TeXLive installation native to Linux already has this and all the necessary packages installed.
